WP Sheet Editor JetEngine GPL Overview
We show you how to import custom post types created with JetEngine. Also, you’ll learn how to export custom post types from JetEngine to a CSV file.
This way, you can easily migrate your dynamic content from one website to another. You can work on your custom post types on a local site and then quickly import them into your live site.
If you want to export your custom posts to a CSV file to edit them offline in Excel or online in Google Sheets, you can download all the information in a CSV file.
To do this, we will use the Posts, Pages, and Custom Post Types plugin. This WP Sheet Editor plugin allows you to view and edit your posts, pages, or any other custom post type from an intuitive spreadsheet.
Your productivity will be considerably increased because you will save many hours and clicks to apply bulk changes to hundreds of custom posts.
After installing the plugin, you need to install the JetEngine Extension to make the WP Sheet Editor and JetEngine plugins fully compatible.
Once you have installed the plugin and extension, follow these steps to export or import any custom post type.
1- Generate the custom post spreadsheet
Note: If you already set up the spreadsheet, go to the next section.
To view and manage your custom posts in the spreadsheet, you need to first generate the spreadsheet.
If you haven’t set up the spreadsheet, go to WP Sheet Editor > Setup Spreadsheet.
Once there, select the custom post type you want to edit in the spreadsheet and click Save.
After that, select the columns you want to view in the spreadsheet.
Move the columns you don’t want to view in the spreadsheet into the Disabled side.
Finally, click Save.
After that, you’ll see your custom posts displayed in the spreadsheet as rows and their fields and meta boxes as columns.
2- How to export JetEngine custom post type to a CSV file
With WP Sheet Editor, you can download your custom posts to a CSV file. This way you can migrate your custom posts to another website.
Just follow these simple steps to export your JetEngine custom posts to a CSV file.
Open the Export tool.
Now you need to configure the export:
- What columns do you want to export: You can export all columns, all active columns, or select individual columns to export. We’ve selected all the active columns.
- You need to tick the I understand it will export all the rows from my current search checkbox.
- What app will you use to edit this file: You can select any of the available apps: Google Sheets, Microsoft 360, Microsoft Excel, etc.
- Name of this export (optional): You can save these export settings for future sessions.
- Click Start new export.
After that, your JetEngine custom post will be downloaded to a CSV file. You can open it with the app you selected in the export configuration. Here’s how our custom post looks in Google Sheets.

3- How to import JetEngine custom post types
With WP Sheet Editor, you can import custom posts using a CSV file. This is useful when you’re migrating your dynamic content into another site. Also, it’s great to create hundreds of custom posts automatically and bulk update existing custom posts.
Once you’ve prepared your CSV file, you need to open the Import tool.
After that, you need to select the file you’ll import:
- Source: CSV file from my computer
- CSV file: Click Choose File and select the file from your computer.
- Click Next to continue.
Now click Import all the columns.
Now you can configure how you want to import the information:
- Do you want to update or create items: Create new items and update existing items.
- CSV File: record_id
- WordPress File: ID
- Click Next.
Finally, you’ll be shown a preview to see how the information will look once it’s imported.
Click The preview is fine, start import.
Once the import process is done, you’ll see that all the information will be updated in the spreadsheet.

This is how you can export all your custom posts to a CSV file. You can use this CSV file to edit your custom posts in Excel or Google Sheets. Also, you can migrate the custom posts to another website.
